A classic Cotswolds day out that never really gets old 🤍

Bourton-on-the-Water is one of those places we keep coming back to, especially with little ones, because it’s easy, walkable, and there’s so much packed into one pretty village.

If you’re planning a visit, here’s what makes it such a good family day out:

🍰 Food & treats everywhere
You’re spoiled for choice with bakeries, tearooms, riverside cafés and cosy pubs. The famous snowman hot chocolate at the riverside booth is still available (marshmallow snowman, hot chocolate heaven, and huge hit if you’re visiting with kids!). Don’t forget a visit to the “once upon a sweet shop” 🍬

🦢 The river & bridges
It’s lovely to stroll and sit along the riverside. In summer the kids love to paddle.

🐦 Birdland Park & Gardens
Perfect for younger children, with flamingos, penguins and shaded paths. It’s compact enough to hold attention without being overwhelming.

🚗 Cotswold Motoring Museum
A great break from walking, especially on cooler days. Full of nostalgia for adults and familiar characters for kids.

🏡 The Model Village
A miniature replica of Bourton itself, small but charming, and ideal for little explorers. Our kids loved going round it multiple times 🥰

🧺 Top tips before you go
– Arrive early or later in the afternoon to avoid peak crowds
– Park just outside the village and walk in
– Weekdays are calmer if you can manage it
– Very pram-friendly, but busy in school holidays

There’s a real excitement in experiencing what’s next when it’s designed with intention, purpose, and thoughtful movement at its core 🏁

I spent the day in Kensington test-driving the new Microlino with Laz, courtesy of Micro Scooters. As a Tesla driver and proud, I love how the fully electric Microlino car is compact, beautifully designed and so practical for urban living. This innovative car is the perfect companion for city life. The Lite version can also be driven on a provisional license making it the perfect first car for a 16 year-old. 🚙

Beyond the adventure today, our visit to London was a first look at what Micro has coming this year and there’s a lot to be excited about. From clever updates across their much-loved kids’ scooters to the headline launch everyone’s talking about: their upcoming collaboration with Porsche. Design-led, performance-inspired, and very much setting the tone for where movement is heading next 🇮🇹🇬🇧

A slow afternoon on the water, Dubai style 🇦🇪 ⚓️

One of the loveliest ways to see the city is from a small private yacht. In the strong desert heat it feels more refreshing, unhurried, and surprisingly peaceful compared to the pace and temperature on land.

We cruised along the Palm with the skyline behind us, soft music playing, sea breeze flowing, and plenty of comfortable seating to enjoy the skyline from the water. It was a nice feeling of being gently removed from the noise of the city.

Why I love a small yacht over a big boat trip:
• More intimate and private
• Easier to move around and get photos
• You can sit, talk, swim, or simply do nothing
• Perfect for celebrations, couples, or a special family moment

Most Dubai yacht trips depart from Dubai Marina or Palm Jumeirah, typically ranging from 2–4 hours. Many include cold water, soft drinks, towels, and a captain, and you can bring your own food or request catering depending on the charter and if they have a BBQ on board.

It’s one of those experiences that feels quietly luxurious, not flashy, just beautifully simple.

Things to remember:
▫️Bring seasickness tablets and bands! You never know who may need them.
▫️ Bring high factor suncream.
▫️ Wear your swim gear so you can have a dip! - we had very little ones with us so we didn’t this time.

Luxury glamping in the Agafay Desert, just outside Marrakech 🏜️

From heat to ice the Finnish way ❄️🔥

Thermal cycling has been part of Finnish culture for over 2,000 years. Traditionally, families would sit in a wood-fired sauna before stepping straight into an icy lake or rolling in snow.

The contrast between extreme heat and cold causes blood vessels to constrict and expand, supporting circulation, calming the nervous system, and leaving that unmistakable post-sauna clarity Finns swear by.

In places like Rovaniemi, Lapland, this ritual is often enjoyed beside frozen rivers under Arctic skies.

💭 Cost guide:
A private sauna with a private ice dip in Lapland typically costs €120–€250 for 1.5–2 hours, depending on location, season, and whether it’s wood-fired or electric. Shared experiences are less, but private is where the magic really is.

It was such a fun experience! Would we do it again? YES!! I rate this bucket-list experience 9/10 for ambience, thrill, views and laughs 🫶🏻

January isn’t about doing more. For me, it’s about doing things better. 🤍

After the excess, the late nights and the disrupted routines, I wanted skincare that felt restorative, not reactive. So for the last month, I committed to one simple habit: LED light therapy, five times a week.

It was hard to choose but these are some of the highlights of our rollercoaster year! 🚀

I decided to take the week off social media to switch off and spend time with my loved ones. This week has felt so beautiful slowing down, relaxing and spending quality time at home with my little family. It’s been the perfect much-needed festive break we didn’t know how much we all needed after a rollercoaster year. It’s also felt so lucky to have been blessed with this beautiful winter sunshine everyday too. We are just waiting for the snowfall to arrive… (wishful thinking?) 👀☃️

As you’ll see, our week has mainly been made up of cosy moments together at home building childhood memories with annual traditions, spending time at our loved ones homes, festive baking and indulging in delicious home baked feasts with family, and I couldn’t think of any better way to have spent Christmas this year ❤️

We wrapped up a wonderful Christmas waving off the Boxing Day hunt in Broadway, which could be its last ever one. I have never seen Broadway so busy and as a little tourist gem, thats a grand statement to make! 🐴

Yesterday Laz and I spent most of the day taking down all the decorations and storing it all away and now we feel ready to start the new year. There is something about this little ritual that really does help you feel reset, clear headed and refreshed for new beginnings 🤍

A few festive moments from the weekend that I will always treasure🎄

Our annual pantomime visit is always a huge hit with Roman and Olivia. Roman acted like it was his first time (as he was only a year old last year so can’t remember!) Both were dancing, clapping and Roman was completely in awe 🥹

We also enjoyed a wonderful lunch at The Nook on Five, one of our favourite spots in Cheltenham. Gruffydd Wyn Roberts (3rd place on Britains Got Talent) sang Christmas carols which really helped us all get in the festive spirit (scroll a few slides to see the video of his incredible final piece - sound on). 🎶

Then we came home for festive play by the tree and Christmas movies. Roman has been obsessed with his new Bing Bunny toys. The interactive Bing is beautifully soft, the wooden busy board has also been such a hit, and the puzzles are perfect for challenging Roman, especially the bigger one with a puzzle inside a puzzle (genius). We also had a wonderful afternoon enjoying Christmas drinks in our favourite local village, Broadway. It’s always worth a visit at Christmas, even if you’re from further afield, as it looks so magical lit up. I didn’t take any photos, which is always a sign of a good time with good friends 🎄🤍

A little peek inside my camera roll recently. Theres a real mix of magical family moments and a few lovely invites that has helped to add magic to the start of our Christmas festivities. 🎄

We were kindly invited to Sudeley Castle’s Spectacle of Light. The castle grounds are so beautiful and the lights just make the whole experience so magical. This years theme is King Arthur and the hologram shown(I’ve only shown a snippet) is incredible! The children loved running ahead every time something new glowed in the trees 🏰

Laz and I took a little trip to London just the two of us where we booked an immersive theatre dining experience through the Fever App. It was such an incredible way to experience the show and we had prime seats right by the stage in with all the action.

There’s something about the Cotswolds in winter that just feels so wholesome and homely on crisp sunny days like yesterday 🍂

The honey-stone cottages, the little independent shops glowing from the inside (and some have even started putting out their Christmas window displays 🎄).

It’s the season where I lean into cosy layers that feel comforting rather than just warm. There’s something about being out on a yacht that instantly shifts your perspective. Whether it’s the fresh air, the skyline views, or just the calm of the waves, it always makes me stop and take it all in.

📍Fun fact: Dubai Marina is actually the largest man-made marina in the world, stretching over 3km and home to more than 200 skyscrapers (some of the tallest residential buildings on the planet!). It was designed to resemble the Concord Pacific Place in Vancouver, but of course, Dubai went bigger and bolder.

If you’re visiting Dubai, seeing the city from the water is a completely different experience. You’ll glide past iconic spots like:
🔹Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) — best seen from the sea
🔹The twisted Cayan Tower — one of the most unique high-rises in the world
🔹Dubai Marina Walk — buzzing with cafés, restaurants, and nightlife
🔹And if you go further, you can even catch views of the Palm Jumeirah and Atlantis.

💡 Travel tip: We booked our yacht trip through GetYourGuide, which made it super easy to arrange (and meant we didn’t have to stress about all the logistics). Boat tours range from shared cruises to private rentals, so there’s something for every budget.

Now (full disclosure 😂) by the time we got on board we were hot, sticky, and slightly dishevelled (Dubai heat is no joke!). But the minute that sea breeze hit and the views opened up, it was the most refreshing and magical way to reset.

Cahors is one of those French towns that feels like it’s stepped straight out of a storybook. Tucked into the Lot Valley and surrounded by vineyards, it’s the kind of stop that makes you slow down, sip the wine, and notice the little details. Here’s how to spend the perfect day:

1️⃣ Start with coffee + croissant
There’s nothing quite like sitting at a pavement café with a croissant and coffee, watching the town wake up around you.

Cahors has one of the most colourful markets in the region stalls overflowing with walnut cakes (a local speciality), rich cheeses, seasonal produce, and bright flowers. It’s the best way to taste the Lot Valley in one place.

If you’ve ever dreamed of exploring the South of France in a way that feels both slow and stylish, sailing the River Lot is the trip for you. Think medieval villages perched on cliffs, morning markets bursting with cheese and fresh baguettes, secret gardens tucked behind old stone walls, and evenings with local wine and cheese by the water.
