Best Family-Friendly Luxury Resorts in Egypt: Why The Serry Tops Our List

Where curated calm meets playful moments; luxury that works for the whole family

Looking for a luxury escape that doesn’t mean compromising on calm, comfort, or kid-friendly convenience? Let me introduce you to The Serry Beach Resort in Hurghada, Egypt, a design-led beachfront haven where family time meets five-star style. From sunrise swims to barefoot dinners and space to just be together, this resort redefines what a family holiday can feel like.

Unlike so many “family-friendly” resorts that can feel chaotic, dare I say it a little tacky, or overly themed, The Serry Beach Resort offers a refreshing alternative: a stay that’s grounded in slow living, an aesthetically conscious design that radiates a beautiful calming aura, and laid-back luxury.

First Impressions: Warm, Welcoming, & Wonderfully Thoughtful

From the moment we arrived, The Serry felt different. We arrived in the evening after sunset and were instantly in awe. The polished white marble floors and grand pillars reflected the flicker of fire pits lining the stairwell, casting a golden glow that led us toward sweeping views of the Red Sea and the softly lit outdoor lounge areas. This incredible welcome really set the tone for our stay and we knew we had chosen the perfect resort for our family holiday.

The architecture leans into an earthy, Arabesque-Zen style with natural stone, handcrafted Egyptian furnishings, and airy, open spaces that instantly feel calming. The check-in process was effortless (always a bonus with little ones in tow), and the white-gowned staff greeted us with cool welcome drinks and warm smiles for the kids too. This isn’t the kind of resort where you feel herded in or rushed. It’s personal, calm, peaceful, and intentional from the start.

Spacious Rooms Designed With Families in Mind

We stayed in a two-bedroom suite and it felt more like a chic family apartment than a standard hotel room. The Serry’s suites are designed with real families in mind with thoughtful details that make all the difference.

✔️ Separate sleeping areas - ideal for evenings for relaxing with an in Master Room bubble bath or a drink on the balcony without disturbing the little ones

✔️ Plenty of storage (no suitcase Tetris!)

✔️ Stylish touches without sacrificing comfort

✔️ Dedicated butler service — to handle restaurant bookings, activity planning, and little luxuries. Ours even insisted on pushing the pram and helping with pool inflatables (a true helping hand on holiday!)

Every room draws from local craft with clay pots, soft lighting, and tactile materials that feel grounded and beautiful. It’s luxury that’s lived in, not showroom-stiff.

A Pool (and Waterpark!) for Every Mood and Age

With multiple pools, including a heated outdoor pool and a dedicated children's splash zone, water-loving families will feel completely at ease. Our little ones loved the boutique kids club where they could enjoy pottery making classes, magician shows, shell hunting and more! While the older kids gravitated toward the water park at the sister hotel over the road where The Serry guests are free to enter as and when they wish. Lifeguards are posted around all active zones giving parents peace of mind while still being able to relax poolside preferably with something cold in hand under a shady cabana and five-star drinks and snacks service right to your sun lounger or cabana.

Bonus: the beach is just steps away, with soft sand and gentle sea entry, perfect for paddling and shell collecting.

Dining That Works With Kids

Dining out with children can sometimes feel more like survival than indulgence, but not here. With three restaurants and two lounges, we found every meal easy and enjoyable.

Keif offers Mediterranean dishes with a twist, while Sokar is perfect for fresh seafood by the sea. And for those fussier eaters? The staff were happy to adjust dishes and offer alternatives, no stress, no side-eyes.

High chairs, kid-friendly service, and genuinely warm hospitality made each meal feel relaxed.

Room service was also a win — fast, delicious, and perfect for early nights in the suite after long days by the pool.

Kids’ Club, Playground & Calm Activities

This is where The Serry really impressed. Their ‘Secret Garden’ kids club offers daily themed activities like arts and crafts, face painting, and even cinema nights — all thoughtfully set up in beautiful, calm spaces.

There’s a 24-hour playground tucked just behind the pool area, making it easy for children to play safely while parents unwind just metres away.

No over-the-top cartoon mascots or garish kids’ zones, just a relaxed, natural approach to keeping children engaged, curious, and happy.

Wellthe for Grown-Ups: Spa, Culture & Quiet Moments

Wellthe is the new mindset. A shift from traditional luxury to something more meaningful: travel and experiences built around feeling good. It's about nourishing your mind, body, and soul. The new wealth is wellbeing because the most luxurious thing you can feel is well.

When you’re parenting on holiday, it’s often your rest that gets left behind but The Serry seems to understand that deeply. The on-site Nomad Spa offers everything from deep-tissue massages to hammam rituals and an indoor pool, sauna, and steam room.

And for those balancing remote work or side hustles while travelling (guilty 🙋‍♀️), there’s a co-working space with high-speed Wi-Fi and quiet lounge areas.

It’s a rare mix — a family resort where adults are treated like humans with needs, too.

Sustainability & Style Go Hand in Hand

The Serry isn’t just beautiful, it’s smart, too. It’s the Red Sea Riviera’s first environmentally conscious resort, using solar energy, water recycling systems, and building techniques that make the most of the natural sea breeze (rather than blasting air conditioning).

It’s luxury done with intention and it shows in every detail.

Honest Final Verdict - Would We Go Back?

In a heartbeat! Travelling with children often means lowering your expectations or sacrificing the little luxuries. But The Serry Beach Resort proves that you can have both: soulful design, considered service, and a family experience that feels like a holiday for everyone.

With all the ease of a well-oiled five-star stay, but none of the corporate coldness, it’s the kind of place you’ll want to return to — not just for the setting, but for how it makes you feel as a family.
